People often ask me if the food they eat actually matters when they're trying to conceive. The answer, of course, is a resounding YES. But I'm surprised at how often people are skeptical that the foods we choose to consume, the very building blocks of our bodies, could have an impact on fertility.
There are a lot of aspects of our health that we have little control over: environmental toxins, the stressful pace of modern living, some genetic factors, etc. But when it comes to eating habits, we have a choice. This is something we can control. Several times each day, we can choose to nourish our bodies with the real food needed to flourish and reproduce. Why waste such precious opportunities?
If you are interested in learning more about eating for fertility and why it does, in fact, matter, I have written an article for Pacific Centre for Reproductive Medicine all about this topic. Pacific Centre for Reproductive Medicine (PCRM) is one of the largest fertility clinics in Canada, offering personalized fertility care while acknowledging that each person's journey to fertility is unique. I recently presented a lunch & learn to the staff at their Vancouver clinic on the topic of eating for fertility and was very pleased to find that their doctors, nurses, scientists, and administration staff are all very open to using food and nutrition as part of holistic fertility care. Stay tuned for some collaborations with PCRM coming up in 2019! To read the article, click below:
